|
Jeffrey Beers has over two decades of extensive experience and an exceptional reputation in both the architecture and interior design industries. As President and founder of Jeffrey Beers International, he prides himself on creating unique and innovative design environments that work. Some of his past and present works include Tabu, RumJungle Restaurant and Club, China Grill ( Miami, New York, Las Vegas, Mexico City), Hilton Tokyo Bay and DB Bistro Moderne. Prior to founding JBI, Beers enjoyed a distinguished six year tenure with the world - renowned architectural firm of I.M. Pei & Partners. At Pei, Beers served as Project Architect on a number of significant projects, including the four tower multi - use Raffles City complex in Singapore, the deluxe Fragrant Hill Hotel outside of Beijing, the Morton N. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas, and Mt. Sinai Hospital’s Medical Center in New York City. Jeffrey’s education and professional training are equally impressive. After receiving his architecture degree from the distinguished Rhode Island School of Design, he earned the Fullbright Fellowship for International Architecture. This prestigious apprenticeship enabled beers to pursue his keen interest in the relationship between architecture and light as it allowed him to study and practice the art of glass and glass blowing with renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly. Continued collaboration and work with the medium provide beers an unparalleled expertise in glass - both as material, and light design element - as evidenced in each of his projects to date. Beers is the recipient of several awards and honors, including induction into the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle, and the Gold Key Award for Design Excellence. His work is widely published in such magazines and newspapers as the New York Times, New York, Interior Design, Interiors, Details, Food Arts, House & Garden, Hospitality Design, Departures, and Vogue. Jeffrey Beers is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the New York State Society of Architects, The National Architectural Registration Boards and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He is a Founding Board Member of Urban Glass, a nonprofit glass school and facility in Brooklyn, a trustee of the Allen-Stevenson School in Manhattan, and he is listed in Who’s Who in Interior Design, Baron’s International Edition. |
